Hurricane Lowell put a lot of Hawaii homes in the dark this year, and it also showed what this community does when things get hard.
As the storm wound down, people started reaching out asking how they could help neighbors who were still without power. Battery Bill's donated a SOLIX S2000 and 400W solar panels to Aloha United Way and to Heima, so both organizations had real backup power on hand for the families they were already helping.
That's the part that stuck with us: it wasn't just one donation. By the end, folks all over the island had chipped in, checked on each other, and given up their own spot in line so someone else could get set up first.
