Before Battery Bill's robot mascot ever showed up in a commercial, he started as an idea. Somebody had to turn that idea into something real you could pick up and hold. This is a look at the person who did it.
Meet Kobe Lunasco
Kobe is a talented 3D artist who does a little bit of everything, from 3D modeling and printing to stop motion animation. He also mentors kids in his craft, sharing what he knows with the next generation of makers. So when Bill wanted a real, physical version of the Battery Bill's robot, Kobe was the guy to build it. He 3D printed the robot piece by piece, then painted every part by hand, from the bright blue body to the red panels and the yellow eyes. The result is the little guy you can spin around in 3D below.

The Hawaiian Kids
Kobe also works with the Hawaiian Kids, Waialua Robotics' FIRST Team 359, and they deserve a shout out of their own. They were the first FIRST Robotics Competition team in Hawaii and the first robotics program in the state, competing since 1999. They've helped start robotics programs at schools all over the islands, and today nearly a third of Hawaii's K-12 schools have robotics in their curriculum.
They've been recognized on the biggest stage too. They won FIRST's top honor in 2011 and entered the FIRST Hall of Fame, and this year they were named a FIRST Impact Award Finalist at the 2026 FIRST Championship.
A robot mascot built by someone who works with Hawaii's first robotics team feels about right to us.
